Aboriginal Education
The NSW Department of Education is committed to being a strong culturally responsive and inclusive education system where every Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander learner and student is known, valued, and cared for to learn, grow, and belong. Our commitment to creating an equitable and outstanding system affirms Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education is everybody's business.
At John Hunter Hospital School we uphold the belief that Aboriginal Education is based on a genuine and practical approach to working together to improve outcomes for Aboriginal learners by ensuring they have access to an education and training system that values their cultural heritage and identity, and supports their learning and career development through quality teaching practices, relevant policies, and strategies and inclusive curriculum and training programs.
Reconciliation Action Plan
Our Reconciliation Action Plan has been published on the Narragunnawali website since February 2021. This is a wonderful resource for our school that keeps us accountable on our journey to reconciliation.
